FRAME SLIDERS

Frame sliders are designed to take the brunt of the damage when your bike goes down. Helping to save expensive body work, engine cases, etc.

These sliders feature replaceable Delrin covers that are designed to take most of the punishment, and then can easily be replaced.

These are serious sliders with hardened bolts designed for the most demanding racer. Yet they are equally at home on that street bike offering it added protection as well as the track racer look.

GSXR1000 PROGRESSIVE CLUTCH

The GSXR1000 clutch is a multi stage lock up . Used primarly for drag racing, and other very high horsepower applications. The faster the rear wheel turns, the more lock up pressure is applied to the pressure plate.

Each arm on the lock up device represents one stage of lock-up adjustment. Arms are controlled by stall spring, thus allowing the mechanic flexibility in determing the RPM each finger will start applying clutch pressure. In addition, an arm can be ajusted to release clutch pressure at maximum rated torque your engine produces, thus keeping your motor at maximum efficiency with each gear change.

New from APE ...
An outboard starter plate and nut kit for the Suzuki Hayabusa. This kit is designed for drag racing busas that are using Lectron carbs and a Dyna ignition on the right side of the motor.

Up until now, the Hayabusa engine was limited as to how much static compression you could put in it, as it had to use the factory electric starter, a weak point in an otherwise great engine.

Because APE is the leading manufacturer of starter plate kits for drag bikes, some of the top engine builders had asked us to do one for the busa.  The first pre-production units have been tested on high compression motors by a top
busa engine builder,  and work flawlessly.

The busa starter plate is fully CNC machined and has an O-ring behind the seal holder so that, like all other APE plates, there is no oil leaks of any kind. It comes with a heat treated steel nut that fits all common starters. 

Production units are being manufactured and will ship shortly.

Valve springs for the Kawasaki ZX12.
APE , a leading supplier of high performance valve springs, now offers a Valve springs for the Kawasaki ZX12.

The APE spring is made from special chrome silicon material and installs in the motor at 55 lbs seat pressure. Travel to coil bind is .570". This allows the use of cams up to .520 lift.

For comparison, the oem spring has 35 lbs of seat pressure, and will 'coil bind' at .410" which would limit cam lift to about .360". The extreme progressive design of the oem springs does not allow it to respond to shimming for more pressure.

APE announces the availability of its new left side motor plate for the GS model Suzukis.


This new plate incorporates the APE exclusive outer crankshaft support bearing. This feature has become very popular in our starter plates as a way to prolong the life of expensive racing crankshafts. It holds the end of the crankshaft perfectly concentic no matter how much RPM the engine turns.

Until now, this feature was only available in the APE stand alone starter plate kit. Customers that wanted to utilize a complete motor plate that also has a countershaft support bearing had to do without the crank support.

APE has combined the best of both worlds with this new motor plate. A countershaft support bearing is incorporated along with the crank support bearing now in one package.

As with our starter plates, this motor plate features an O-ring and seal behind the crank bearing for complete no leak operation. As with all APE starter plates, this new plate is completely CNC machined for perfect fit.  

Available for large or small Suzuki crank ends. The countershaft bearing accepts offset sprockets with a 45 mm nose. ( also available from APE)

These new APE guides feature a "slight" hone to fit for the most precise valve control possible.
The Vortex II cylinder head is a state of the art racing part (also available from APE) . Engine builders using this cylinder head have requested that we make a guide that they can set up to their own particular  stem to guide clearances.

APE announces the availability of two new products for the popular Honda CB600RR.

They are a manual cam chain adjuster and adjustable cam sprockets.

The manual cam chain adjuster replaces the factory automatic adjuster. This modification has proven a must do on all of the CBR Hondas. Allows the tuner to adjust proper tension on the chain for precise cam timing. Fully CNC machined and anodized red. The adjustable cam sprockets are precision CNC machined to exacting tolerances. they permit the cams to be adjusted for optimum performance.

New from APE for the Suzuki Hayabusa.

Heat treated chrome moly main bearing studs. These studs feature rolled threads, centerless ground surfaces, and come with competition style twelve point flange nuts. As racing's leading supplier of heavy duty engine stud kits, APE already has their very popular top end cylinder studs for the big Suzuki, and now turned their attention to the bottom end. By replacing the bottom end bolts with heavy duty studs, it helps minimize the chances of high output engines trying to separate the engine cases at the crank center line resulting in oil pressure loss and possible engine bearing failure.

Hot rodders have already pushed the power of these engines to over twice what the factory intended. As with all engines with this power output, heavy duty fasteners are mandatory to hold them together.

 New Wiseco Piston For Vortex 2 Cylinder Heads


APE announces a new Wiseco piston for Kawasaki / Suzuki two valve drag racing engines using the Vortex two cylinder head. Available in two sizes; 85 mm (1500ccc) and 86 mm(1532cc Suzuki only) This new piston features an all new forging that allows for a finished piston that weighs only 246 grams without internal machining.

The piston features a dome machined to achieve maximum compression with the Vortex combustion chamber. The compression height is .9715 (KZ location) and features an 18 mm tool steel pin 47 mm long.

Valve pockets are machined to 47 mm intake and 39 mm exhaust. Dome features both vertical and lateral gas ports.

Kits include pistons, rings, tool steel pins, clips, and Copper head gasket. Part# 85 mm CK127, 86mm CK128

American Performance Engineering in association with Race Bike Developments Australia announce the availability of the new KZ900/1000 quick access clutch system conversion cover.

The new conversion cap eliminates the clutch actuating worm and pushrod assembly through the gear shaft and facilitates the conversion to the Suzuki GS type of rack and cable actuating system. Some machining of the KZ pressure plate is required to accept the Suzuki hardware.

This cover will go over standard and multi stage lockups and clutch plates can be removed through the access hole as with all the other R.B.D. quick access covers.

The Cover is supplied with a list of suzuki parts required to complete the conversion. The base cover is the same as supplied for all R.B.D. KZ slider and lockup quick access covers and those that are already using one can purchase the conversion cap on its own.

APE announces the latest addition of a new state of the art Serdi 3.0 cylinder head seat and guide machine.

The new machine features Serdi new triple float head design that allows for valve seat to guide concentricity unmatched by any other machine.
With the new Serdi, will allow APE's race machine shop to provide the most precision high performance valve jobs in a reasonable turn around time.

 APE introduces the all new high volume oil pump gear for the Suzuki Hayabusa.

It is no secret in the racing community that Suzuki's monster super bike has a problem with low oil pressure. This usually shows itself in the form of connecting rod bearing damage.

This new gear is a direct bolt in replacement for the OEM oil pump gear. This gear causes the pump to turn at faster speeds which increases oil volume and thus pressure.

Initial testing revealed the following improvements on the test bike; 3000 RPM, 32 psi with stock gear - 52 psi with high volume gear. 6000 RPM, 72 psi stock - 90 psi HV gear.

This item will be a must-have for all Hayabusas that are subject to high performance type riding.

APE announces the new ZX12 Heavy Duty cylinder stud and nut kit.

APE now has heavy-duty heat treated chrome moly cylinder studs available for the Kawasaki ZX12. They replace the OEM bolts. These studs have proven to be the solution for nitrous 12s that kept pushing the head gasket out.
These studs have several advantages over stock head bolts. They can, for instance, make use of all of the threads in the case. They scew all the way in and bottom out. The elimination of repeated removal on disassembly makes the case threads last longer, etc. These studs come with special 12 point high tensile nuts.
