MBS1300GSX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Clean out holes...If necessary use solvent and a small gun brush.

2. Set empty cases together to determine where studs go. Long studs are #s 2, 4, 6 per factory shop manual.

3. The long thread goes in the engine case.

4. Using two wrenches, lock two 3/8-24 nuts on the end of the stud. (Do not use nuts that came with stud kit.) Install studs in case and torque 8 ft. lbs. max.

5. Upon assembly, using locktite, an 11mm or 7/16 12-point socket, torque nuts to 32-35 ft. lbs. max. Consult factory manual for tightening sequence. Use all oem washers under nuts. Copper washers go on the four studs not covered by the oil pan.

WARNING - Overtightening main bearing studs may squeeze main bearing bores out of round.

The 10 mm main bearing holes in the lower case are slightly miss matched from the factory. It is necessary to run a 10 mm reamer (not a drill) thru the holes from the inside out as shown.
